The Indies Explorer is a South African run charter. Gideon, built "the Dream" charter yacht in Indonesia. She is a 110ft gaff rigged ketch with seven sails. She can sleep 12 guests, in 6 spacious private, double cabins. Very wife/girlfriend friendly, with double beds and lots of space. She cruises at 9 Knots, has a 3500 nautical mile fuel range, carries 10 000 litres of fresh water and is purpose built for surf exploration. On board is a 10 man, 25hp tender, 2 man sea kayak, game fishing tackle, spear fishing gear and much more. Below deck features a saloon/dinning area with a comprehensive library, TV, VCR with 55 movies and CD player. Above deck is a modern open plan galley, leading onto a large aft deck dining area. The Indies Explorer features extensive safety gear, such as a 25 man life raft, 25 lifejackets and EPIRB. Navigation equipment includes a 32 mile radar, sounder and GPS.

THE CHARTER
Departing from Padang, on the west coast of Sumatra, you will be aboard for 10 nights and 11 days. You will board the yacht at 12h00 on a Friday and your charter will end 11 days later on a Monday. The charter dates are designed to coincide with Singapore Airlines flights to Padang.
Charters can be tailor made to suit the groups special needs.


THE SURF
The charter will be focussed mostly on the Northern Mentawai Islands, Telo Islands and the Hinako Islands. You may also visit Nias, and the infamous waves of Asu and Bawa. This part of Indo has some of the most consistent and perfect surf in all the world .There is surf in these areas year round, and Gideon and his crew know where to find waves on any given day.
