FOCUS ON THE EMPLOYMENT EQUITY ACT
NOW AVAILABLE: A HUMAN RESOURCES POLICIES AND PROCEDURES MANUAL TO HELP YOU MEET THE REQUIREMENTS.
Save your company months of work by using a Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual as a template to construct your own in-house document.
To help you achieve the requirements of the Employment Equity Act, we have produced a set of two comprehensive manuals. These documents will assist your organisation to define policies and specific procedures in line with employment equity requirements.
The Act calls on businesses to formulate their own employment equity strategies. By June/Dec next year (depending on size) employers must have:
Consulted with their employees (directly, through a workplace forum) or trade union and disclosed relevant information to employees to enable them to negotiate effectively.
Conducted an analysis of their business which must comply with regulation,
Drawn up a comprehensive employment equity plan.
Reported to the Director-General on their plan and then report on progress and implementation.
The first Human Resources Policies and Procedures manual covers six key HR functions:
Compensation and Benefits,
Training and Development
For each of these functions specific policy statements have been formulated together with the specific procedures that support the policy statements.
The second manual deals specifically with the design of your Employment Equity Plan.
The hard copies of the manuals are provided together with on-disk versions. This means that you will be able to easily customise sections of the documentation to suit your specific needs.
These manuals will assist you to consolidate your Human Resources Policies and Procedures by documenting them in a way that is consistent with the Labour Relations Act, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Employment Equity Act.
