‘N Sync's Joey Fatone makes his directorial debut on the video version of Latin heartthrob Luis Fonsi's English-language debut single, "Secret." The song is from Fonsi's first-ever English language CD, "Fight the Feeling," which is due in stores July 2.
Fatone and Fonsi have been friends since high school, and they were members of an a capella pop group called Big Guys. The ‘N Syncer joined his buddy on stage last year in San Juan,
P.R., for one of Fonsi's two sold out shows at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente.
(28/3) Britney Says "I'm Single"
Source: etonline.com, Amy
BRITNEY SPEARS told the British talk show, "The Big Breakfast," "I am single right now." That seems to put an end to the "are they or aren't they" stories that have been swirling around Spears and her apparent-ex JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. She never did mention Justin by name during the interview though.
(25/3) Lance to Fulfill Space Dream
Source: dailynews.yahoo.com
Teen heart-throb Lance Bass of the U.S. boy-band *NSYNC arrived in Moscow on Friday hoping to fulfil his dream of becoming the first entertainer in space.
After an overnight flight, Bass was whisked straight from the airport to a medical institute outside Moscow for the first of a battery of tests set to last the weekend.
When he finally arrived at his hotel and hauled his suitcase out of a blue van, the jet-lag wasn't enough to dampen the 22-year-old's excitement. What was he here for?
"I'm doing some testing," he said with a grin, then adding bashfully, as if he wasn't quite sure it was OK to let the news out, "for the Russian space agency."
You want to fly to space?
"Hopefully, some day."
Why?
"'Cause its been my life-long dream. I've always wanted to do it and I want to see if I can do it."
You scared?
He smiles. "Nah, never."
It was Bass's first time in Russia, which was "very cool. It's everything I imagined it to be."
Bass hopes to visit the International Space Station, following in the footsteps of space tourist Dennis Tito, who paid a reported $20 million for a ticket there on a Russian rocket last year.
Moscow plans to send a South African Internet millionaire up to the station as the second space tourist next month, but Bass would be the first pop star to turn amateur astronaut.
Russian space officials said Bass has yet to book his seat.
"We have received no information from him," Russian space agency Rosaviakosmos spokesman Sergei Gorbunov said. "Of course, there is a possibility. There is always a possibility. But he has taken no official steps to arrange the trip."
Bass said he was getting the tests done first.
"That's what I'm here for, just to test to see if my body can handle space. If I get the ok, I guess I'll go up in November."
Friday's tests were "the normal physical, you know. Checking the heart out, the eyes, the ears. I'm all wired up."
So what do Chris, Joey, Justin and J.C. -- the other members of the quintet -- think of his plans?
"Ha ha. They love it. They're all saying they'd never do anything like that. But I guess there's something in me. I just want to do it so bad."
(24/3) RadioShack Kicks off Lance Bass Mission
Source: prnewswire.com
RadioShack Corporation (NYSE: RSH) today provided the fuel to launch Lance Bass of *NSYNC on the first stage of his trip to the International Space Station
(ISS).
RadioShack backing enabled the 22-year-old pop singer to begin medical screening at The Institute for Bio-Medical Problems
(IBMP) near Moscow, a grueling step that will determine whether he has the right stuff for a trip to ISS onboard a Russian rocket. If he passes the medical screening and then successfully completes six months of cosmonaut training, he would blast off from Kazakhstan on Oct. 22 and return Nov. 1.
RadioShack's involvement with space exploration complements its brand position of demystifying technology for consumers: "You've got questions. We've got answers." Without advances made possible by space technology, digital products that consumers enjoy today such as satellite direct-to-home television and wireless phones would not be possible.
"The Lance Bass flight will enhance RadioShack's on-going space program, which started last year when we delivered Father's Day gifts to the space station crew," said Jim McDonald, senior vice president for marketing and advertising for
RadioShack. "In addition to providing surprise gifts to the crew members, we also filmed the first-ever television spot on the International Space Station."
In that TV spot, RadioShack gave TV viewers a look at personal life aboard the ISS with a commercial showing station commander Yuri Usachev receiving his gift. The gift was launched to the space station on April 28, 2001, from
Baikonur, Kazakhstan, on the same Soyuz rocket that carried pioneer space tourist Dennis Tito, who was not involved with the filming of the commercial.
Presentation of the gift, a RadioShack "talking picture frame" personalized by his daughter Evgenia with a photo and voice greeting, became the first commercial ever shot on board the
ISS. The 30-second slice-of- orbital-life commercial was telecast a dozen times on several networks in the weeks leading up to Father's Day on June 17.
The two cosmonauts on the Soyuz flight, Talgat Musabayev and Yuri Baturin, also carried up a talking picture frame for U.S. astronaut James Voss, the other dad on the Expedition Two crew. He wasn't shown in the commercial due to U.S. government rules against federal employees endorsing commercial products.
Future space projects supported by RadioShack include the first satellite to be built on board the
ISS, which may be released for a trip to lunar orbit by late 2003. The "SuperSat" would be the first deep-space probe able to send back live digital television over its high-bandwidth communications link. Its purpose is to map the Moon's poles in a search for safe landing spots for future surface rovers, which will be driven by RadioShack customers by remote control from Earth.

(23/3) Lance in Moscow for Space Tests
Source: mtv.com, Sherry
Lance Bass has taken one small step for boy bands, and one large step toward fulfilling his dream to be the first entertainer in space.
Taking a break from 'NSYNC's Celebrity tour, Bass is in Moscow this weekend to undergo a few medical tests to see if he can qualify for a
November mission aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket to the International Space Station.
"The cosmonaut tests entail a lot," said Destiny Productions President David Krieff when he called from Moscow Friday (March 22).
Krieff accompanied Bass on the trip to film the experience for a possible television special. "It's everything you can imagine and
more ... centrifugal force, zero gravity, bloodwork, a full physical exam."
Krieff, who said that Bass "is doing great and kicking butt," estimated that the singer will only be able to complete three-fourths
of the required tests on this trip and will have to return to Moscow at the end of April to complete the examination. "The remaining tests
are going to be more probing," he said, "more in the mental acuity realm."
Though Bass has yet to book a seat on November's mission or to talk to the Russian Space Agency about getting on the candidate list, he's
undergoing the tests at the same medical facility where other Americans on Russian missions, including first-civilian-in-space
Dennis Tito, had theirs. The cost of the tests was underwritten by Radio Shack, the first corporate sponsor to sign on to the endeavor.
"By working with Lance to support his quest for space travel, we are reconfirming our commitment to space exploration and the exciting
innovations it can offer," Jim McDonald, Radio Shack's senior vice president of marketing and advertising, said in a statement. "We
commend Lance for his pioneering spirit and willingness to journey into space."
Bass will need a number of corporate sponsors to fund his trip, since the usual asking price for a civilian to embark on a space flight is
about $20 million.
Bass' next step, if he passes his qualifying medical exams, will be to arrange and undergo five to six months of training at Star City
near Moscow, which he'd like to start in early May. ('NSYNC is slated to complete their tour April 28 in Orlando.)
Star City is where South African Mark Shuttleworth is currently training. He's slated to be the second civilian to go into space,
with his trek to the ISS booked for April 20.
Bass' current trip should have no bearing on 'NSYNC's current tour dates. A spokesperson for Jive Records confirmed that the group's
show Monday (March 25) in Denver is still a go.

Britney Spears' was planning to open a new restaurant named after the nickname her beau (or ex-beau) gave her.
The restaurant was to be called Pinky's, however, MTV News reported today that Britney has changed her mind. She will no longer be
calling her restaurant Pinky's. She has not decided on a new name yet.
This last minute change of plans will not set back the opening of the restaurant. Work will begin this week on the restaurant in
preparation for the opening in May 2002.

(19/3) Joey Talks About His Big Fat Movie
Source: mtv.com, Karabear
When Joey Fatone needed a break from 'NSYNC, he decided a wedding would be nice.
Nah, the singer didn't tie the knot — he took on a role in the independent film "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," which hits theaters
April 14.
"Obviously ['NSYNC] can get old or tiring after a while and you're like, 'I want little bit of a change,' " Fatone said at a screening
of the movie last week. "[So you] go do a movie. Be a character. Be nutty. Be silly. Whatever the case may be. And then you're like, 'OK,
well, now I can be creative and go back to doing writing and dancing and performing with 'NSYNC.' "
In "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," which Fatone filmed before last year's "On the Line," he plays the cousin of the main character,
played by Nia Vardalos. Vardalos also wrote the script, which Fatone called "wonderful."
Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, offered to produce the movie after seeing
Vardalos' one-woman play on the same subject: a young
Greek-American woman who falls in love with a non-Greek and struggles to get her family to accept her fiancé. John Corbett ("Sex and the
City," "Northern Exposure") co-stars.
Fatone filmed his scenes at the same time 'NSYNC were recording Celebrity.
"We are supportive of anything that anybody else does in the group," he said. "They were able to work the schedule were it was like I flew
in [to Toronto] to shoot some of the scenes, then flew back to record."
The traveling didn't wear on Fatone so much as the different schedules.
"Being on tour all the time, you're doing a show that night and you're driving into the next city early in the morning, and you get
to sleep in because you got in at like 5 in the morning," Fatone explained. "[Movies are] reversed. You wake up at 5 in the morning,
you're done sometimes by 5 or maybe even 9, depending on what the shoots are. And then you're in bed by 9. That's the way I was on this
[movie] and 'On the Line.' I was beat."
Fatone's next movie, "The Bros.," about two suburban white guys who journey into the world of hardcore rap, is expected to debut at a yet-unspecified film festival later this year.

Source: prnewswire.com
Candie's, Inc., announced today its tour ticket promotion with American Music Awards Favorite Band, *NSYNC. The concert tour kicked
off this month in Portland, Oregon and will continue through the end of April. The Candie's promotion is hitting 31 major U.S. cities.
This is the second consecutive season the company has collaborated with the multi award winning, *NSYNC on a ticket promotion. NSYNC

(18/3) *NSYNC Is Not Breaking Up
Source: lvrj.com, Just Justin, Chickhottie09091
*NSYNC is not breaking up and neither have Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears, an *NSYNC spokeswoman said Saturday night.
The group, together for seven years, is taking "a little hiatus" of about eight months and should be back together by early next year,
said Melinda Bell, of *NSYNC's management group.
"They have not had one day off in five years," said Bell on Saturday night during a radio promotion in The Palms High Roller Lounge.
During the hiatus, band member Lance Bass plans to visit Russia and train to become a cosmonaut.
Bell said reports of the Britney-Justin split are "just a rumor. They are all laughing about it; Justin's laughing about it."
Bell said Spears is in Europe promoting her first film, "Crossroads," but the buzz at the *NSYNC concert Friday night at the MGM Grand had
Spears seated in a VIP section with a hat pulled low.
(16/3) Justin and Nelly 'Work It'
Source: launch.com
Multiplatinum rapper Nelly--who recently hooked up with *NSYNC for a remix of the group's latest single, "Girlfriend"--shared with LAUNCH
that he hopes this collaboration will help him crack the top five of MTV's TRL countdown.
"You know, they already had the video--been Number Two, Number One on TRL for a minute, you know? I think the highest I ever been is Five,
you know what I'm sayin'? I was, like, 'Yeah, yeah, let me get above the five mark for a minute.' We
kinda, like, shot my part--Justin was
there. We shot my little piece and we just inserted it into the video. Basically, you know, the same director, Mark
Klasfeld--same little scene, same little set-up--just you know, Nelly in the joint
now so, you know, it's pretty cool."
*NSYNC's Justin Timberlake returned the favor by appearing on the song "Work It" from Nelly's upcoming sophomore set,
Nellyville, which
is due out June 25. Nelly shared with LAUNCH that the recording session started out a little rough.
"Something about when me and J get together, you know what I'm sayin', and we get to
flowin' like that. The creativity was
crazy 'cause to go into the studio, we went in there actually I had a song already planned, done, and
whoopty-whooped and all I needed was
somebody to do the hook and, you know, I did the 'Girlfriend' remix, so you know, I asked J would he do that, you know, and he
said, 'Yeah, cool.' But when we got to the studio, something was up with the beat--we pretty much just scrapped the whole damn song, you
know what I'm sayin'? So when it came to it, it was, like, 'What we gonna do?' We just
sittin' in the studio looking at each other like
we can't believe this."
Nelly explained that following the glitch with the original track, he and Timberlake were able to make a song from scratch in 12 hours. "We
just got to rolling through beats, you know what I'm sayin'? Got to rollin' through the Pro Tools, had some beats from my man Jay E.,
Basement Beats, and we found a beat that we liked, man. In like 12 hours, we came up with another whole joint, you know what I'm
sayin'? I sat there went in my zone, wrote verses, we just started vibing off each other, what he was feeling, you know what I'm
sayin'? He spit
his little thing on there, came up with the hook. We just put it together, man, and it was crazy 'cause it came together so quick and
it was so hot."
(16/3) Opening Act, Smash Mouth Diss *NSYNC
Source: End, Just Justin
In the competitive world of rock, sometimes compromises have to be made, said Smash Mouth guitarist/songwriter Greg Camp.
In Smash Mouth's case, that meant softening its sound and opening for a boy band.
"We're on the same airwaves as *NSYNC,'' Camp said. "But we write our own songs, we play our own instruments, and we actually sing
live. And they're a track act, they're a boy band. Artistically, it's not really the coolest thing in the world.''
But Camp said he realized there can be a silver lining:
"We'll be playing for 20,000 people,'' he said. "There's a percentage of those people that knows who we are but don't have our
album. If we can kick their (behinds) every night, they may buy our record.''

(15/3) Talent, Marketing Keep *NSYNC Hot While Other Boy Bands Cool Off
Source: azcentral.com, nsyncwebguide.com
In less than five years, 'N Sync has become the premier male-vocal act in the country.
As the Backstreet Boys drop off the charts and 98 Degrees goes on a "hiatus" that likely will be permanent, the pop-music machine known as 'N Sync is expanding its fan base through shrewd management and hard work.
Far from fading from the spotlight, the platinum-selling, stadium-filling 'N Sync has seemingly been everywhere in American pop culture - on the cover of Rolling Stone being declared the world's biggest pop group, onstage at Michael Jackson's New York tribute, teaming with rapper Nelly at the Grammy Awards, singing the national anthem at the Olympics and crooning in a TV ad for a restaurant chain.
Such appearances have been sprinkled among four major tours in the four years since the Florida-based quintet debuted. The latest tour, which double-dips into the same album (Celebrity) as last summer's stadium outing, visits Phoenix tonight.
"How can you ever stop loving them if they won't go away?" says Danny Zelisko, the man in charge of Clear Channel Entertainment's operations in Phoenix, Las Vegas and Albuquerque.
"They're in your face; they just don't stop touring."
Zelisko, who has been booking concerts for 30 years, says repeated performances in cities around America, a knack for choosing the right high-profile appearances and smart repackaging of its music lengthens the life span of 'N Sync.
"These guys come around just enough, and they always put on a great show. They get just the right commercial with the right sense of humor or appear on the right show," Zelisko says.
The group's street-savvy remake of the single Girlfriend, featuring Nelly, has once again made 'N Sync the most-requested act on the Valley's pop-radio powerhouse, KZZP-FM ("KISS" 104.7), according to program director Tom Calococci.
"The music is always where it continues to count, and their music continues to evolve," says Calococci, who once worked for the Backstreet Boys.
'N Sync also scores points with Calococci for bringing in producers such as the Neptunes and Rodney Jerkins on Celebrity: "I think 'N Sync delivered an album this past summer that has kept them musically relevant - particularly the single Gone, which not only got played on Top 40 radio, but got played a lot on R&B radio across the country."
While the Backstreet Boys, who have been dropped from the KISS playlist, have resisted spicing up their boy-band harmonies with edgier fare, 'N Sync has embraced other musical influences, says Whitney Rock, Southwest regional marketing manager for the Wherehouse Music record chain.
" 'N Sync has no problem going to (other artists) and saying, 'Hey, we'd like to try this. What do you think?' " Rock says.
Driven by a string of singles that includes the danceable Pop, the Celebrity album has remained a strong seller for Wherehouse, Rock says, adding that
'N Sync's clean image has been a plus with record buyers.
Although Backstreet had to interrupt a tour last year while A.J. McLean underwent alcohol rehabilitation in Arizona, 'N Sync's members "are all still very much what would appear to be down-home boys," Rock says.
"You don't have the rehab clinic that you do with the Backstreet Boys. You don't have those kinds of issues."
The engagement of 'N Sync's most visible member, Justin Timberlake, to Britney Spears also enhances the group's appeal with young listeners, Rock says.
"You've got the prince of pop dating the princess of pop."
Despite 'N Sync's power as a group, both Rock and Calococci say they've heard murmurs of Timberlake taking a break from bandmates J.C. Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick to record a solo album.
"These guys get older and become more mature, and their priorities change," Calococci says.
"They've gotten to where they want to go, and they look to take it to another level. A lot of times that means doing their own thing with a bunch of other guys or on their own."
Rock thinks Timberlake might be able to juggle solo work with his 'N Sync gig, but Calococci predicts that such a career move would signal the beginning of the band's end.
"Very few of these bands have much staying power beyond five, seven, eight years. Even the Jackson 5 and the Osmonds back in the '70s, they faded."

(14/3) Nelly Collaborates with his Dirty, Justin Timberlake
Source: mtv.com
Though you may have seen them together on last year's Super Bowl halftime show, this year's Grammy Awards and in the current video for 'NSYNC's remix for "Girlfriend," Nelly said that he and his "dirty," Justin Timberlake, don't really get a chance to hang out that much. But when they do, they make it count.
Most recently, the two collaborated on Nelly's next release, Nellyville, due June 25. "I got a surprise track that's on there," Nelly said of the LP Monday night at Times Square's W Hotel, fresh from traveling on the road. "Justin did a song for me. I didn't want to come off fake with it. I'm not trying to take him off into a different element where people be like, 'That's Justin doing that? C'mon. That ain't right.' So we just did something we had in common, and that was girls."
Forget the fact that Justin is arguably the most popular singer on the planet, or that his vocal skills have helped 'NSYNC sell more records in the past few years than most labels' entire rosters. The St. Louis rapper joked that J.T.'s origins are what really impressed him.
"He's a cool dirty," Nelly said of their relationship. "Once I found out he was from Memphis, that sewed it up for me. I was like, 'OK, I see you in a whole new light. You Memphis family.' I meet up with [him] at different parties. It's hard [to hang out] 'cause he's crazy busy. I'm ripping and running as well. We ain't really got a chance to sit down and kick it, but we always got that, 'I'mma call, I'mma call. We'll chill.' "
There wasn't too much chilling during the days leading up to the Grammy Awards. Nelly said 'NSYNC went through a rigorous rehearsal process and he didn't see them much before the show. However, he loved finally getting onstage with them.
"It was crazy," he said nonchalantly of the performance. "They just asked me would I do it and I said, 'Why not? It's the Grammys. It's on.' "
He had that same laid-back attitude when it came to recording his verses on the "Girlfriend" remix, despite some second guessers around him.
"When the thing came up, a lot of people was like, 'You don't wanna do that remix, do you?' " said Nelly, who shot a new part for the video with Justin to be inserted into the clip that's already running. "I'm like, 'Why not? Tell me why not.' The song was hot. I can see if the song was [wack]. Then I would have been like, 'That ain't it.'
"Actually, Justin was [in the studio with me]," he added. "And [the Neptunes] were there. I just kind of vibed. I wanted to wait until I got there until I wrote it. I wanted to feel what kind of vibe they was giving off. When I got there, I kind of put something together. They dug it. It was cool, I came up with it pretty quick. I think to be the best, you gotta show flexibility. I didn't really try to censor nothing but I went with the flow of the song, and kept everything in line."

(12/3) Justin and Britney are NOT Breaking Up
Source: dailynews.yahoo.com
To paraphrase her latest single, pop princess Britney Spears is "not a girl, not yet a woman" and not yet broken up with her boyfriend, *NSYNC singer Justin Timberlake.
After a rash of media speculation in recent days that the reigning couple of teen pop had split up, Spears issued a denial on Monday from Germany.
"No, that's not true. Me and Justin did not split up," Spears, 20, told MTV Europe.
According to various newspaper reports, Spears was seen drowning her sorrows at Los Angeles hot spots early last week, with unidentified sources claiming the relationship fell victim to their busy schedules. Her publicist, Lisa
Kasteler, did not return a message seeking comment.
Spears, who told Rolling Stone magazine last December that her new year's resolution was to spend more time with Timberlake, has been busy promoting her new movie "Crossroads," and begins a two-month North American tour in May. Timberlake, 21, kicked off an 'N Sync tour last week.
Spears, and curly-haired Timberlake, have known each other since the early 1990s, when they were both in the cast of "The Mickey Mouse Club." They rekindled their friendship a few years later, and became an "item" in September 2000 after they turned up together at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York.
The first couple of teen pop has sold millions of records and played to arenas packed with screaming pre-teen fans. But with the mania subsiding, Spears has started diversifying.
She made her feature acting debut last month in "Crossroads," a road movie in which she plays a high school valedictorian who loses her virginity to a mysterious bad boy. The kissing scenes reportedly disturbed Timberlake, although he made light of them while helping Spears promote the film. (Spears, in turn, was reportedly upset when Timberlake kissed a girl for an *NSYNC video.)

Rosie O'Donnell will return for her sixth headlining gig at the 15th annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards April 20. O'Donnell will likely continue her hosting stint on the popular kudocast -- airing live this year from Santa Monica's Barker Hangar -- even after she leaves her talk show this May. A Nick spokesman said the cable channel should "continue to have an ongoing relationship with Rosie" after this season, since she is a "longtime friend of Nick."
This year's kiddie favorites mirror what most of the country seems to like, with box office hit
"Shrek" and ratings champ "Friends" leading the nominations. "Shrek" is up for five awards, including best movie and book. "Friends," with four nods, will battle it out in the TV show, TV actor (Matt
LeBlanc, Matthew Perry) and TV actress (Jennifer Aniston) categories.
Other nominees include "Dr. Dolittle 2," "Harry Potter (news - web sites) and the Sorcerer's Stone" and "Rush Hour 2" for picture;
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Lizzie McGuire" and "7th Heaven" for TV series; and the Backstreet Boys, Destiny's Child,
Dream and 'N Sync for singing group.
(4/3) SPOLIERS: Celebrity Tour

My friend went to the opening show last night and gave me all the details she could remember. Sorry if the details are a little sketchy. She was really tired and I was pumping her for info.

Stage:
Ok, the stage was "basically" an end stage setup. There was no back wall, just stage on the ground. It was in a big O-type shape, with the "pit" of fans in the middle. It was like an O with a flat side kind of... Anyway, that 'flat side' was between two fireman poles, and was where the band was situated. Oh, and there was another walkway up behind the band, becuase there were people sitting back there. The fireman poles went down below the stage. Like, every time they came out of the floor (like 3 diff. times) beforehand they had gone down the fireman poles.
Set List and spoilers:
The first song was 'Do Your Thing' and they came up out of the stage from these little squares in the floor. They didn't pop up, just slowly rose up. There was like a buttload of fog and smoke all over the stage. They were dressed in just like jeans and ghetto clothes, kind of. Really casual. I would compare it to the clothes from 'Girlfriend' just casual, jeans, t-shirts... but like Vintage pop-sparkly-eccentric type casual
Ok, then I *think* it was Bye Bye Bye. Because they just kind of blended them all together. They didn't really END anything... it just kind of faded into the next song, which was It's gonna be me.
ok, well, after that, I remember them leaving, and then coming out in black and white outifts, a little dressier... slacks, lance had on a tie...There was also this big U-shaped catwalk that came down and connected onto the flat far end of the stage (the part where the band was, it overlapped the rest). And they walked onto it. Then there was a half circle to the left--another little stage. so they made their way over there and sang The little medleys they always do, you know. First they did a Beatles section, then the Temptations... mmm... I think that was it. Just like 4 or so songs from each of those groups... "people who inspired them."
Then they're like, "We've always done covers of other people's music, and we've always had fun with it. And so, we're bringing back on old one tonight..." and it introduced into Sailing. Then they went back down onto the main stage and sang some slow songs: For the girl who has everything, God must have spent, drive myself crazy, this i promise you...
Then after the suits, they were back in casual clothes, but MORE casual. Like, Lance had on jeans and an orange shirt, and that's when (I *think*) Justin had on his nasty vintage leather hat. He asked the audience if we liked it, and some booed.
Ok, so the next thing I remember after that is them singing NSA...so anyway, they're singing NSA and these ropes fall from the ceiling. And when they sing "no strings attached" they just ran, grabbed onto the ropes, and swung out over the audience from the far left end of the stage!
Then they sang tell me tell me, baby and up against the wall. the next thing I really remember is them coming to the the back of the O, and sitting on their stools. they sang this song that was inspired by new orleans, and it's 'i want you back' in BLUES STYLE! it was SO cool. ok, so then they "left" after the blues. but we're like "it's SO not over."
Then they came back out for "Gone." But it wasn't the normal, violin 'Gone' ~ oh, and at this point, they'd changed clothes again, i think. JC's shirt was like those 'I heart NY' shirts, but it was black, no sleeves, and the heart was glittery red, and it said 'I heart YOU.' The song was like rock and roll, electric guitar instead of soft violins 'gone.' It had a total backbone to it, it was pretty cool. So then after that they sang 'Girlfriend' and then 'Pop.'
Ok, so for "Pop" they used the pop out of the floor things, like the beginning. But instead of just rising out, they literally popped out of the floor, like, shot up in the air. But the thing was, Joey didn't pop out of one, and I don't know why. So they all popped out, and he came running in from the side. And I don't think he was like, late or anything, he just didn't want to use the popping stage effects. And there was tons of big booming fireworks (not as much as the nsa tour, but like bigger ones, i guess). Like, there weren't a lot of constant fireworks, but just big boom ones. And then it was over.
also sang: celebrity (she can't remember which fast section it was in), possibly just the two of us (she doesn't remember if she heard
it in the car on the way over, or because she heard it at the concert, lol). She knows she can't remember a few songs, though.

(2/3) *NSYNC and New Power

This is a special message from a project supported by NSYNC.

Take action now.
Prominent musicians across the nation today launched a nationwide grassroots effort to stop the Senate from passing the dangerous energy plan which oil lobbyists helped write. Musicians and tens of thousands of their fans will be contacting their Senators to tell them to vote against the plan, which has already won approval from the House.
"Drilling in our last wild places like the Arctic Refuge? Risking Three Mile Islands with more nuclear power? That thinking is as old as fossil fuels. We would all benefit from a plan inclusive of environmental conservation, fuel efficiency and alternative energy sources,"says Mike Diamond of the Beastie Boys, who has been organizing members of the music community in this effort, called the New Power Project, since last May.
Starting on February 11th, dozens of well-known musicians will mobilize their fans by encouraging them to visit the www.saveourenvironment.org/newpower site where they can send a free fax to their senators about the plan. Kevin Richardson (of the Backstreet Boys), REM, the Roots and Live join the effort that has already included the Beastie Boys, Barenaked Ladies, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Dave Matthews Band, Blues Traveler, Moby, Trey Anastasio (from Phish), Jackson Browne, Alanis Morissette, James Taylor and others.
The Energy Plan being considered by the Senate was passed in the House last year, after heavy lobbying by the oil drilling industry.
The plan calls for drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and other public lands, weakening the Clean Air Act, and increasing subsidies to coal and nuclear industries. An alternative bill is being proposed by Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D - S.D.) that would prohibit drilling in the Arctic Wildlife Refuge, invest in clean energy and raise fuel efficiency standards.
By raising fuel economy standards for new cars, SUVs, and trucks to 40 mpg, we would save four million barrels of oil a day by 2020 – more oil than we import from the Persian Gulf each day and could expect to get from drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, combined! America needs an energy plan that emphasizes efficiency and conservation. The New Power Project artists believe that is the kind of plan the Senate should pass.
Kevin Richardson of the Backstreet Boys said, "Our country consumes 25 percent of the world's oil and holds less than three percent of the world's reserves. The House's position that drilling our way out of dependence on foreign oil is ridiculous. If we are to be truly self-reliant, let's be leaders and increase our fuel efficiency instead of violating our natural treasures."
The music community has allied with the Save Our Environment Coalition--a collaborative effort of over a dozen of the nation's most influential environmental advocacy organizations. Dubbed the New Power Project, the innovative effort has rallied tens of thousands of fans and other supporters to sign petitions and to fax their members of Congress, expressing outrage over the plan's disregard for environmental protection and failure to support conservation and renewable energy programs.

(2/3) Justin Going Solo?
Source: mtv.com
Multiplatinum teen pop groups are a lot like luminous stars about to go supernova. With a tremendous burst, the star's core collapses and its energy is blasted into interstellar space. Traces remain for years, but the fiery glow is gone and its essence becomes mere stardust.
New Kids on the Block, New Edition, Menudo and Spice Girls are just a handful of groups that were flying high one moment and fading away the next.
One way artists sometimes try to delay or even avoid their seemingly inevitable decline is by leaving their group and striking out on their own. Of course, there's no guarantee such a move will recharge the engine, as evidenced by Melanie B., Geri Halliwell and Joey
McIntyre. But for Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Robbie Williams and others, stepping out provided a chance to reach even more stratospheric heights — which explains why there's so much talk right now about 'NSYNC's Justin Timberlake going solo.
Fans aren't the only ones talking. On "TRL" late last year, Elton John hinted that he would play piano on a Timberlake solo disc (Justin played a young Elton in John's "This Train Don't Stop There Any More" video). Last month, Angie Stone revealed that Timberlake wants her to guest on the record as well. And Raphael Saadiq said he is planning to be one of the producers for the project.
Last year, Timberlake ventured outside the 'NSYNC family to record guest vocals for Brian McKnight's Grammy-nominated song "My Kind of Girl" and to co-write and co-produce "What It's Like to Be Me" from Britney Spears' Britney, which came out in November. And as the lead singer, writer and producer of 'NSYNC, he's already proven he can
write and produce smash hits.
However, in a recent MTV poll, more than 50 percent of those who responded said that Justin should stay with his bandmates.
"If Justin went solo he could never in a million years get the reception that 'NSYNC gets," said Danielle from Green Bay, Wisconsin. "They work so well together as a group because each member brings something unique to the group and gives them a wider fanbase."
Only 34 percent suggested Timberlake should leave the group, but many in that minority voiced their opinions with the most emphatic words.
"Justin is 'NSYNC," wrote Melissa from Columbus, Georgia. "He wrote almost all the songs on Celebrity, and all of his singles are doing very well. If there was no Justin, then there would be no 'NSYNC. If Justin was the star of "On the Line" instead of Lance and Joey, the movie would have done much better at the box office. It is and will always be Justin and the Timberlakes. J-Dog, do us all a favor and go solo. You don't need them."
Lindsey from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was just as insistent: "Justin is the only one that sings and has a lead role as it is. Isn't he already solo with some background singers and dancers?"
Some participants in the poll felt that without Timberlake, 'NSYNC wouldn't have the starpower to continue their chart reign.
"He'd probably be really successful, but I think that if he decided to [go solo] his former 'NSYNCers would be screwed," wrote Mary from Hamilton, New York. "They are all talented individually, but you've got to admit, Justin Timberlake carries the group on his very attractive shoulders."
Still other fans argued that Timberlake would sputter and choke without the rest of 'NSYNC.
"If Justin feels that he should go it alone, then he should, but he shouldn't be expecting the same popularity that he has with 'NSYNC," opined Meghan from Rochester, New York. "His fans love him because of his association with the group, and some may not want to see him solo. I just hope he knows what he is doing and he doesn't end up a has-been before his 22nd birthday!"
Willow from Chicago was less diplomatic. "Without the other four members of 'NSYNC, Justin is merely Mr. Britney Spears. Much like Nicole Kidman (who remained in the shadows of Tom Cruise until their divorce), Justin, on his own, will be more famous for being Britney's boyfriend than he will be for any talent he may possess. As long as he is with Britney, he needs the rest of the group."
In all likelihood, nothing's gonna stop Timberlake from recording a solo album, but just because he's gonna enter the studio without Lance, Joey, Chris and JC doesn't mean he has any intention of leaving 'NSYNC for good.
Even if that's his eventual goal, he'll probably wait until he has a successful solo record under his belt before making any sort of official announcement. Even then, if he's as savvy as he seems to be, Timberlake just might wait until 'NSYNC lay an egg before he waves bye bye bye to his bandmates.
