(31/10) *NSYNC Gameboy Game in the Future?
Source: nsync-land.com, Sarah

I work at a toy store and today while I was in our office I found a flyer with *NSYNC on it. It looked like the one we had gotten about their phone/computer game they have out right now but it was about a different game. There's gonna be an *NSYNC game for Game Boy Color. I'm not sure when it comes out or what the name of it is... all I know is that you have to get to the concert and there's all these obstacles and stuff to stop you. If I find out more info I'll let ya know.

(30/10) Lance & Joey put it 'On The Line' with Lost Messages
Source: sportshollywood.com, Meaghan

Have you ever wondered whether those two-way pagers that everyone seems to be carrying now are secure? Well, Motorola reps claim that they are...unless you also send your messages to someone other than the intended recipient, and then that person loses their two-way communicator.

Such was the case yesterday when Lance Bass and Joey Fatone, stars of *NSYNC and the new movie "ON THE LINE," discovered their personal two-way messages being posted on the internet. Apparently, the pop superstar duo had "cc:'d" one of their LA-based representatives on messages relating to their new movie "ON THE LINE." And when the unidentified rep's two-way device was lost last week, the copied messages from Lance and Joey suddenly started appearing on the internet. The rep has since changed two-way addresses.

An *NSYNC representative said that all members of the world's most successful band carry the two-way pagers because they are all on-the-road so much.

The bulk of the rogue two-way messages involve the preparation for the music video shoot of the hit song "On The Line" (currently in rotation on MTV) from the anticipated new movie "ON THE LINE" (which opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, October, 26th). The romantic comedy tells the story of Kevin (Lance Bass) who meets the girl-of-his-dreams (Emmanuelle Chriqui) on the Chicago "El" train. When Kevin forgets to get the girl's phone number, he and his buddies (led by Joey Fatone) set out to find her. Internet buzz on the movie has been, not surprisingly, very strong.

Fatone and Bass came together to assemble a top-notch "super group" to perform the hit single from their movie. The ON THE LINE ALLSTARS super group includes Lance and Joey from *NSYNC, Mandy Moore, Christian from BBMak and True Vibe. Because the members of said super group conglomerate were scattered around the world, the vocal tracks for the song were recorded in different locations (and, in fact, in different countries). Lance and Joey recorded in Orlando; Mandy Moore recorded in New York; and Christian recorded via an ISDN connection from London to New York. Mandy Moore flew in from a previously scheduled trip to Singapore to appear in the New York City shot music video, while Christian came from London. All of the participants credited both their friendships with Lance and Joey, and their excitement about the "On The Line" song itself as the deciding factors for traveling across the globe at a moment's notice to participate.

On a lighter note, the music video shoot marked the first public on-camera appearance of "Jackson," Lance's new dog. According to the two-way message exchange, the puppy is clearly not potty-trained yet, as evidenced by its "accident" on Dre, Lance's long-time personal security guard. Apparently, Jackson had his FIRST "accident" on the floor at The Met while *NSYNC was rehearsing for "Pop."

On the set, everyone agreed to work through lunch so that Lance and Joey could attend and perform at the Michael Jackson tribute concert. Rumor has it that Joey kept making fun of Lance, telling everyone that Lance didn't know how to kiss his "ON THE LINE" movie co-star, Emmanuelle Chriqui. When Joey declared that he would have given her a better kiss than Lance did...Emmanuelle burst into laughter and repeatedly screamed at Joey, "You wish!"

(27/10) Postars Cancel European Tours
Source: dailynews.yahoo.com

First it was Janet Jackson. Then Destiny's Child. Now the Dave Matthews Band has joined a chorus of American pop acts who have canceled or postponed overseas tours since last month's terrorist attacks.

"I think that there is probably a sense from an American standpoint that they might be more of a target,'' said Gary Bongiovanni of Pollstar, which tracks the concert industry.

The cancellations will likely cause a 10 percent drop in overall concert grosses for the year, said Kelly Barbieri of Amusement Business, which also monitors the concert business.

It's another setback to the industry, which already was experiencing an off year before Sept. 11.

"The economy is down, ticket prices are up,'' Barbieri said. "Ticket grosses were OK for the third quarter, but attendance was down.''

Jackson canceled her European tour two weeks after the World Trade Center and Pentagon assaults, citing concern for her fans.

"Like most people, the events of Sept. 11 have troubled me enormously and I remain concerned about the foreseeable future,'' she said in at the time.

Since then, Weezer has canceled its European tour; Destiny's Child has pushed back its fall European tour until May; Slipknot postponed its "Pledge of Allegiance'' European tour until sometime in 2002; and this week, Dave Matthews Band canceled its tour of Mexico, Germany and the United Kingdom, citing the attacks and the need to stay close to family. Several other tours have been delayed or canceled as well.

Arista Records President Antonio Reid told The Associated Press shortly after the attacks that he expected overseas events to be canceled "because artists are skittish about flying right now.''

'N Sync had no overseas concerts planned, but even member Lance Bass
acknowledged he was reluctant to travel.

"Yeah, I'm a little hesitant going to other countries,'' Bass said. "Going to a whole different place, you don't know how it's run.''

Dave Zedeck, co-founder and partner of the Evolution Agency, a music agency which represents clients such as Britney Spears and 'N Sync, said performers are definitely worried.

"I think it's twofold - the concern of what happens there, and secondly, what happens if they're there and something happens here,'' he said.

Barbieri said she couldn't recall a time when so many acts have canceled European dates, even during the Gulf War.

Another concern for tour promoters is lackluster business in the United States. While no figures were available, Bongiovanni said the industry has suffered since Sept. 11.

"There really aren't any promoters crowing about how great business is right now,'' he said. "I really tend to think that it has a lot more to do with uncertainty over the economy rather than fear of going to a large gathering.''

The only exception to the international and domestic downturn is U2. The group has sold out its fall tour dates, which went on sale shortly after the attacks.

At this point it's unclear when the concert industry will begin to rebound.

"It depends on what happens,'' Barbieri said. "If something else happens stateside ... then forget it. Nobody is going to want to go to a show.''

(26/10) Justin on 'Friends'?
Source: eonline.com, nsyncwebguide.com

Looks like 'N Sync's curly-headed heartthrob is just too booked to join the literati right now.

Justin Timberlake's saying bye, bye, bye (sorry...couldn't help it) to his seven-figure book deal with Ballantine Books to publish his first tome, titled Inside Drive: A Novel of Basketball, Life and Love.

The reason, according to the publisher, is that the 20-year-old was so strapped with other projects he didn't have the time to devote to the book and its subsequent publicity blitz. The page-turner was due to be released this fall.

Early rumors were that Ballantine dumped Timberlake partly because of the lackluster sales of his girlfriend's latest literary effort, A Mother's Gift, which Britney Spears wrote with her mom. But Kim Hovey, Ballantine's VP and director of publicity, says that's not the case.

"We felt very strongly that we needed him to be able to go out on the road and do national media appearances and bookstore events," Hovey tells the Associated Press.

Of course, there were a few other teensy problems--like the book never being finished. Timberlake's publicist, Lisa Kasteler, told the AP that "he had too much going on to be able to give it the kind of time he wanted to." Kasteler says Timberlake won't be searching for another publisher.

Either way, it appears the boys of 'N Sync are doing their darndest to spread their dirty-poppin' wings into other arenas. Fresh off their
appearance alongside Michael Jackson at Sunday's United We Stand benefit concert in Washington, D.C., Lance Bass and Joey Fatone are in full movie-cheerleading mode for their new flick, On the Line, which hits theaters Friday.

Not only does the bubble-gum romantic comedy mark Bass's debut as a leading man, but the project was also developed through his own production company, A Happy Place. All the 'N Syncers (save for JC Chasez) make cameos in the film.

Meanwhile, gossip scribes are buzzing over whether Timberlake's planning to invade another medium--TV. The New York Daily News reports that he met with the writers of Friends this week and was planning to develop a character for the NBC comedy based on the stylist he plays in On the Line.

But don't hold your breath. Sources close to the set tell E! News Daily they hadn't heard anything about it, a comment echoed by Timberlake's camp.

"There's nothing to that," says a rep for Britney's boy.

(26/10) Lance Finds Next Project
Source: dailynews.yahoo.com

A Happy Place Productions, the company that was behind this weekend's Miramax opener "On the Line,'' has bagged a follow-up project.

The company, run by 'N Sync member Lance Bass, Rich Hull and Wendy Thorlakson, has acquired "Lydia,'' a spec project based on an idea by comedian Dotty Archibald that turned into a script by Eugene Lebowitz.

The film concerns a shrink who seeks out a woman who's largely responsible for his practice because she broke the hearts of so many of his patients. The shrink finds himself smitten by the heartbreaker.

On The Line released in America today!

On the Line Soundtrack was released on Tuesday. Apparently not available in SA yet.

On The Line: after calling Nu Metro and Ster Kinekor, I know this - Miramax peeps are gonna watch it at some film festival... and KTV says it'll be out early next year. I can totally deal with that. I'll just wait "On The Line".

(26/10) Info on the On the Line actors
Source: www.lbfc.net
Lance Bass is making his first appearance in a major motion picture with On The Line. His acting career started a few years ago when he made a guest appearance on the TV show 7th Heaven. He isn't planning on his career being over after this movie. According to a recent interview he may do more movies and will probably appear on 7th Heaven again soon.

Joey Fatone has been into acting for a very long time. When he was in high school he was in many plays and musicals his school put on. After high school he worked at Universal Studios as an actor in one of the shows. He had a small part in a movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding and is now appearing in the film On The Line!

Emmanuelle Chriqui has made a big splash since coming to the States from Canada less than a year ago. She was in New Line Cinema's "Detroit Rock City" opposite Edward Furlong. She also landed a lead role in "Ricky 6." Recently Emmanuelle completed the Paramount film, "Snow Day," starring Chevy Chase and Chris Elliot. Born in Montreal to French Moroccan parents, Emmanuelle has been acting since she was seven years old. She started her on-camera experience as the lead in the Canadian TV show "The Write Stuff." More recently, Emmanuelle had a recurring part on the new series, "Manchester Prep" for Fox TV.

(25/10) Chris to Play at Charity Hockey Game in Trenton, NJ

Hey! i got some on news on a charity hockey game taking place on Saturday Nov 3. It's the Flyers Alumni versus some Hollywood All Stars. The catch is that Chris Kirkpatrick is representing NSYNC. He's the only major star I saw on the list so far that I really recognize. The game is at Soverign (sp) Bank Arena in Trenton NJ. Tickets are $15 for adults on the lower level. The lowest price i think was like $12. You can get tickets at the arena box office and/or ticketmaster. The local ticketmaster's number that i used is (215) 336-2000. Tickets are still available. I got mine. I'm 1 section over from the visitor's bench, row AA. That's like somewhere in the first 5 rows at the most. I forget how the sections and rows go in that arena. I'm used to that arena because i go to Trenton Titans games with my bf all the time. If you have any questions, email me. I'll be more than happy to answer them!! - JC44FAN@aol.com

(25/10) Justin's Novel Cancelled
Source: dailynews.yahoo.com

Justin Timberlake's novel has been canceled because the 'N Sync member had no time to do a national publicity tour, a spokeswoman for the publishing house said. Timberlake, perhaps the most recognizable member of the five-member boy band, signed a seven-figure deal with Ballantine Books to publish his first novel, ``Inside Drive: A Novel of Basketball, Life and Love.''

But the 20-year-old was too busy with other projects to promote the book, which had been scheduled for release this fall, said Kim Hovey, Ballantine's vice president and director of publicity.

"We felt very strongly that we needed him to be able to go out on the road and do national media appearances and bookstore events,'' Hovey said Wednesday.

Timberlake's publicist in Los Angeles, Lisa Kasteler, said the decision to cancel the book had to do with more than just publicity.

"He had too much going on to be able to give it the kind of time that he wanted to,'' she said. Timberlake hadn't finished the book, Kasteler said, and won't seek another publisher.

'N Sync took part in the marathon "United We Stand'' benefit concert on Sunday in Washington, and is scheduled to perform at a free Veteran's Day show in Miami on Nov. 11, with proceeds from the sale of VIP tickets going to families of the victims of last month's terrorist attacks.

Hovey said reports are false that the cancellation was inspired in part by disappointing sales of "A Mother's Gift,'' the book Timberlake's girlfriend, Britney Spears, wrote with her mother.

(24/10) Stars Raise Millions for Charity
Source: orlandosentinel.com, Just Justin

Lance Bass and the guys from *NSYNC were just days out of the recording studio, having cut an all-star benefit single for famine relief. "It was Bono, Gwen Stefani, Sting, all this major talent that Bono lined up," Bass says.

And then, Sept. 11 happened.

"We thought about that, and about the song we'd just cut, Marvin Gaye's 'What's Going On?'," Bass says. "I was amazed at how much new meaning the song seemed to have."

Now, proceeds from that all-star single will be split between African relief and charities in the United States.

"You look around for something you can do," says Joey Fatone. "This is something we can do."

*NSYNC is also one of the featured acts in this evening's "United We Stand: What More Can I Give?" benefit concert at Washington's RFK Stadium. Among those on the bill are Michael Jackson, *NSYNC, Rod Stewart, Aerosmith, Backstreet Boys, Ricky Martin, Train, P. Diddy, Goo Goo Dolls, James Brown and Al Green.

"It sold out in under 40 minutes," Fatone says. "You'd never see these acts on the same stage at the same time."

That includes the world's two biggest boy bands. Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC, competing champions of the O-Town Sound, each will do a 20-minute set during the marathon eight-hour concert.

There's been an informal sort of press-driven feud between the two boy bands for years. Does this mean they've buried the hatchet?

"We've known each other for years," Fatone says. "We're all from Orlando, right? We talk and everything, but we're not the best of friends. Both groups are just so busy you just can't get buddy-buddy with people who do what we do."

For fans, it's a chance to catch both "I Want it That Way" and "Bye Bye Bye" live, on the same night. And for charities, it's $2 million, earned in a heartbeat. Parts of the concert also will air in an ABC special Nov. 1.

"Something like this happens, and you look around for 'What can we do to help?' " Fatone says. "That's what it's all about."

** An interactive drum clinic
** Additional drumming with Jenie Ashbaugh and two young talents

(23/10) JC Speaks Out at 'United We Stand' Concert
Source: eonline.com, Just Justin

Flanked onstage by *NSYNC, Mya, Mariah Carey and little country crooner Billy Gilman, Michael Jackson led performers in a not exactly polished version of his new come-together anthem to wrap up United We Stand: What More Can I Give?, the Jackson-headlined D.C. benefit for relief from the September 11 attacks. Other performers included James Brown, *NSYNC, Bette Midler, Usher, O-Town, Rod Stewart, Carole King, Al Green, Train, Destiny's Child, Mariah Carey and the Goo Goo Dolls.

Despite the Anthrax scare, artists emphasized that the weekend concerts in New York and D.C. were not just fundraisers but opportunities for Americans to show their solidarity. "When you see 50,000 people in the stands...they're making a statement," said *NSYNCer JC Chasez. "They're not going to be bullied into their homes."

(23/10) *NSYNC Join Jackson's Charity Single
Source: mtv.com

'NSYNC have joined the star-studded roster for Michael Jackson's charity single "What More Can I Give," whose Latin version will feature Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and the Gloved One testing out their Español. Though Jackson originally announced only Justin Timberlake's involvement, all five 'NSYNC members recorded their vocals in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, the day before JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick debuted the ballad live with Jackson, Carey, Mya and several others at a benefit concert at RFK Stadium

Proceeds from "What More Can I Give" will go to September 11 relief efforts, but Jackson's reps have not announced what organizations will
receive the funds. Both the English and Spanish versions of the song are expected to be completed by the end of the week, according to KC Porter, who is producing the Spanish version and assisting Jackson in producing the English version.

"It really is the same feeling you get from 'We Are the World,'" Porter said Monday, referring to the 1985 charity single that benefited famine-relief efforts in Ethiopia. That song featured hordes of pop stars recruited by the song's writers ? Jackson, Quincy Jones, Lionel Richie and Harry Belafonte.

"The feeling that I'm getting from everyone is they want to do what they can do whole-heartedly, selflessly. The whole vibe of the artistic community has changed ? it's not only about 'me' anymore, it's about what we can all do to provide for the whole of humanity. It's an awakening."

Porter initially translated the song's title literally for the Spanish version but changed it to "Todo Para Ti" ("Everything for You") after Jackson vetoed the directly translated title as sounding too clumsy.

Though the tracks are more or less the same musically, only a handful of stars will do double-duty and appear on both the English and Spanish versions. They include Jackson, Carey, Dion, Gloria Estefan, Carlos Santana, Ricky Martin and Jon Secada. Porter currently has 'NSYNC framing Jackson's lyrics in the chorus of the English version, but the mix is pending Jackson's approval. The producer also may place them in the background on the Spanish version, though the boy band only recorded the lyrics in English.

(20/10) *NSYNC Girlfriend Rumours; On The Line
Source: worldpop.com, nsyncwebguide.com

'N Sync's Lance Bass showed up at the New York premiere of his debut movie the romantic comedy On the Line, which opens this evening in
America, with a mystery girl on his arm. Meanwhile it emerged that one of his bandmates is apparently dating Lance's onscreen girlfriend Canadian actress Emmanuelle Chriqui. Lance, 22, who kisses Chriqui in the movie, refused to answer reporter's questions about the identity of his escort. But, that didn't stop some of America's tabloids putting a name to her - one named the mystery blonde as Laura Carruba who grew up with Lance in Mississippi while another said Lance's escort was his sister.

Meanwhile, the tabs have spotted Lance's On the Line co-star Chriqui canoodling with one of his bandmates at the Roxy nightclub in Orlando. But, the tabs' informants appears confused as to the identity of which 'N Sync is dating her with some reporting that it's JC and others saying Lance's co-star Joey is the lucky guy to have Ms Chriqui on his arm.

Joey and his girlfriend Kelly have a child but are said to be 'off and on' and Joey has apparently yet to admit to the press that he's a dad
while JC has been dating a lady called Bobbi. Justin of course is dating Britney while Chris Kirkpatrick, 30, yesterday, remains single.

Meanwhile, Lance has revealed the movie was originally going to be aimed at a slightly older audience until a love scene was cut out. He says, 'There was this love scene I had to do. Then they cut that scene, and turned it into a PG movie, which is great. Then, after I stopped working out for a month, they added a scene where I had to be naked, in a flashback, so I had to be standing with my shirt off. Like, I should have kept going.' **DAMMIT! Why'd they cut that out?? %^$#$@!**

With a modest budget of about $12 million all the movie has to do is attract the legions of 'N Sync fans to theaters to make money.

Lance, whose own production company A Happy Place co-produced the movie, adds, 'I liked the innocence of it. It wasn't a huge high-budget film. It's a cool romantic comedy. As an actor, I have to grow up. I shouldn't have jumped in being the lead. That was stupid of me, anyway. I really want to grow. The next thing I do I want to have a cool ensemble piece, or the second lead. Gradually grow up to bigger scale movies.'

Lance plays Kevin, a shy ad man who meets his dream girl on Chicago's El train, but fails to get her telephone number. So with the help of his friends, who include fellow 'N Sync member Joey Fatone he launches a citywide campaign to find Miss Right (Chriqui).

The Miramax movie opens in the US this weekend. Joey Fatone appears to be getting most plaudits fromUS reviewers. The New York Daily News' critic says Joey's role as Lance's best mate in the movie, Rod, 'a wild quirky guy', gives a performance that 'calls to mind John Belushi.' The movie includes a scene where Joey arm wrestles with his friend WWF wrestler Chyna.

Joey meanwhile was remaining modest about his acting efforts and told worldpop, 'I just play Lance's dorky friend.'

(16/10) Joey Wants to Do a Movie with Mark Wahlberg
Source: nsyncwebguide.com, bostonherald.com

Turns out teenthrob Joey Fatone of 'Nsync fame is a big Boston fan. The city, not the band, that is. Fatone who stars in the new comedy "On The Line" with his band bro Lance Bass, said he's planning a new flick--"a sort of good-cop, bad cop thriller" -- and he wants to get Dorchester homey Mark Wahlberg involved.

Apparently, the artist, formerly known as Marky Mark is a role model for Joey and the boys. "Mark has had a great deal of experience making the transition from singing to acting, and he would work out really well if I can get him interested in working with me," Fatone told Big Apple blabbermouth Baird Jones. " I'd like to set the movie in Boston as one way to get Mark into it.

Fatone says he'd love to make the flick here because, as we've always suspected, we're just smarter than the rest of the country! "One thing about the fans in Boston, even the really young fans, I know it is a cliche but I really feel that Boston fans tend to be more intellectual and just more intelligent," Fatone said. "Even the fan mail seems more complex when it is from Massachusetts."

(16/10) *NSYNC is In Sync With Charities
Source: people.com

'N Sync is bounding all over the place. On Nov. 11 on Miami's South Beach, the boy band -- Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick and JC Chasez -- will perform a free concert to benefit the families of New York police officers and firefighters killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. (That excludes 2,000 VIP tickets that will be sold.) But before that, on Saturday, Oct. 27, the boys will hit the hardwood as co-hosts of an episode of NBC's "NBA Inside Stuff." The guys will join the show's executive producer and host, Ahmad Rashad, and co-host Summer Sanders to discuss the 'N Sync Challenge for the Children, a Las Vegas umbrella charity that raises money for five philanthropic groups, including the group's own Challenge For Children Foundation, the Justin Timberlake Foundation and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy.

They also plan to talk about their love for basketball and what several NBA players were up to over the off-season. The Challenge for the Children held a star-studded celebrity basketball game last summer to help fill the charity's coffers. (It was the second annual such event, and Justin reportedly was the best player in the band.) Ahmad, who coached one of the teams, will deliver the inside scoop on what went on, including the court techniques of such players as 'N Sync, Britney Spears (who happens to be Justin's main squeeze), "Malcolm in the Middle" star Frankie Muniz and Taye Diggs, as well as such NBA stars as Tracy McGrady, Cuttino Mobley, Dan Majerle, Dennis Scott and Elton Brand, all of whom participated in the game.

In addition to being the co-hosts, says a press release about the program, 'N Sync members spend time with Ahmad and Summer discussing their favorite NBA players and teams -- and kick around the popular belief that while many musicians want to be ball players, just as many ball players want to be musicians.

(16/10) The Beach Boys Dedicate a Song to *NSYNC
Source: nsyncwebguide.com

Last night, I had the pleasure of attending a Beach Boys concert here in Greenville, South Carolina. Obviously all five original members were not there, but all in all the show rocked. The reason I'm posting here is because at one point in the show, the guys began talking about five part harmonines and singing songs accapella. Mike then said "On one of our first records, we covered a song by the great Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers, and we'd like to dedicate it to someone, maybe you've heard of them, they are called NSYNC."

Well, I went into "Amazed NSYNC fan" mode and Screamed very loud (the only person in the entire theater that screamed, thank you. I got a thumbs up from the BEACH BOYS! (Obviously we were the only ones in the theater with good musical taste. Heh.) Afterwards, they said they'd love to challenge NSYNC to a "sing off" but that they'd have to tie NSYNC's ankles together so they couldn't dance. They then began singing "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" and sounded BEYOND wonderful. Definately an influence on NSYNC's music.

(16/10) Lance and Joey Promoting "On the Line"
Source: nsync.com: Melinda's Updates

Hi, as I said Lance and Joey have been out promoting their new movie "On The Line". Since I am not traveling on the movie promo trips, Beth, Lance's assistant, along with the guys are going to be sending me emails telling what they have been doing...here is the first...

Hey Y'all! Beth here! I'm Lance's assistant and I've had the great privilege and opportunity to be involved in Lance and Joey's new movie "On the Line" since day 1 and I have to tell you that it has been one the most amazing journeys I have been on! The guys have known since the very beginning how special this project was going to be and now they want to share with all of you some of the things they have been doing lately to promote their film. I've been out on the road with them and keeping a journal so I can fill you guys in with the latest! The Movie hits theaters on October 26th! Grab all your friends and go see it!

We were all in Orlando packing and getting ready to head to LA for the "On The Line" press junket. The guys were going to be in LA for a few days to conduct interviews with radio and TV stations from around the US and world. They called Emmanuelle Chriqui (who plays Abbey in the movie) to say hi and she seemed so excited to be reuniting with them as they were with her. Everyone that had a part in making this movie was so happy to be hanging out again and sharing with the press and public about how wonderful it really is. After LA we all headed to New York City for the guys to appear on such shows as Rosie, Ricki Lake, Regis and Kelly and The View. However, the main reason we went to NYC was for the BIG premiere for "On The Line" on October 9th!! I was so excited that the time was now here for you guys to get a sneak peak of what Lance and Joey are so proud to be part of!

More to come...
Beth
Hope you enjoyed Beth's journal as soon as she sends them I will get them up! STAY *NSYNC

(14/10) JC Invites O-TOWN to "United We Stand" Concert
Source: dailynews.yahoo.com

O-Town singer Trevor Penick told LAUNCH on Friday (October 12) that the group was added to the concert bill after *NSYNC member J.C. Chasez extended an invitation to quintet. "It's a big show. It's going to be at RFK Stadium--75,000 people and the president is gonna be there. NSYNC and Backstreet (Boys) are putting it on. Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, Kiss, James Brown, Mick Jagger, pretty much all the big names. Yeah, we're doing that one, so that's going to be fun."

Other previously announced performers include Rod Stewart, Sean "P.Diddy" Combs, the Goo Goo Dolls, Train, Ricky Martin, Al Green, and Aaron Carter. Proceeds from the all-star concert will benefit the American Red Cross Liberty Relief Fund, the Salvation Army Relief Fund and the Pentagon Relief Fund.

(14/10) *NSYNC Hit the Beach for Free Show
Source: mtv.com

After participating in the United We Stand benefit later this month, 'NSYNC will stage a fund-raising concert on Miami's South Beach. The show, scheduled for November 11, will raise money for the families of New York City police and firefighters killed as a result of the September 11 terrorist attacks, according to a spokesperson for event

promoters Fantasma Productions. Other artists are expected to be announced shortly. Fewer than 2,000 VIP tickets, ranging in price from $100 to $150, will go on sale Saturday (October 13) at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster's phone service and Web site. There is a two-ticket limit.

VIP tickets will afford concertgoers a seat in front of the stage; other attendees will be admitted for free and must stake a claim on the beach. The promoter said it could turn out to be the biggest event ever held on South Beach, given that people can attend for free. Corporate and local sponsors and the city of Miami Beach will cover most of the production costs, including the donation of security and medical services. All proceeds from VIP ticket sales, merchandise and concessions will go to the affected families. Portions of the concert will be filmed for possible inclusion in an 'NSYNC television special to air on CBS around Thanksgiving, the promoter said.

Three weeks before the show, the group will participate in the United We Stand concert in Washington, D.C., along with Backstreet Boys, Michael Jackson, and Aerosmith, among others. That event is scheduled for October 21.

(14/10) Lance Worries About Critic's Reaction
Source: allpop.com, justjustin.nsync.nu

*NSYNC's Lance is worried about the future of his upcoming movie "On The Line". The movie stars Lance as a shy man who falls in love at first sight with a girl he meets on the train. Lance's character forgets to get the girl's number before she gets off the train, and he eventually starts to search the city for her. Lance's *NSYNC band mate Joey Fatone is also in the movie.

Lance told The BBC that he's nervous about the reaction he'll get from critics. "Of course I worry about which way it's gonna go," he said. "I'm definitely gonna watch and see. I mean, I hope it's a success. But yeah, there's gonna be a lot of criticism out there. You know, a lot of people hate it when musicians go over to acting and acting goes over to music. But I consider it all entertainment."

(12/10) *NSYNC Nominated for 2 Billboard Awards

*NSYNC earned themselves two nominations at the 2001Billboard Music Video Awards. The video for "Pop" is nominated for "Best Pop Clip of the Year" and "This I Promise You" is nominated for "Contemporary Clip of the Year". The awards will be presented Nov. 2 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.

(12/10) *NSYNC, BSB, Jackson to do McDonald's Charity Single
Source: foxnews.com, nsyncwebguide.com

I am told by a reliable insider that Jackson's charity single, "What More Can I Give?" is headed to McDonald's. Maybe you can SuperSize it. According to this source, the single will be recorded on Oct. 20 in Orlando, Fla. with members of 'N Sync, the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears joining in. The single will then go on sale at McDonald's for $2.99. According to my source ? who didn't seem like an escaped mental patient ? McDonald's has pledged $30 million to the relief effort for World Trade Center victims and families.

If that weren't enough, my insider believes that Jackson will get the blessing of President Dubya to make "What More Can I Give?" the official song of the Sept. 11 disaster. Michael will perform the song as the big closing number at the mega-charity show on Oct. 21 at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. along with the aforementioned pop stars.

(12/10) Jackson Tribute on TV this November
Source: mtv.com

Michael Jackson's star-studded concerts in New York last month will make it to the small screen on November 13.

The show will air at 9 p.m. ET/PT. (MTVi's parent company, Viacom, also owns CBS.)

The show will feature Jackson performing such hits as "Billie Jean," "Beat It" and "Black or White," as well as reuniting with his brothers in the Jackson 5 for "I'll Be There," "I Want You Back" and other nuggets. 'NSYNC's duet with the Jackson 5 on "Dancing Machine," will also be featured on the special, the network spokesperson said.

(12/10) Harrision Ford Left Lance Speechless
Source: ew.com

Turns out 'N Sync's Lance Bass isn't built Ford tough. Bass, who is idolized by millions of teens, got weak in the knees when his idol Harrison Ford turned up on the Toronto set of ''On the Line.'' Bass and bandmate Joey Fatone star in the new romantic comedy, which Bass also exec-produced.

''We were getting ready to shoot this scene and the director [Eric Bross] says, 'Don't be nervous, Harrison's here,''' says Bass.

''I thought it was some kind of movie term. I'm like, 'What's a Harrison?' But then I see Harrison Ford sitting there,
staring at me. Not just staring at me, but staring at me acting!'' Ford was visiting his own hero, Al Green, who has a cameo in ''Line'' along with the rest of 'N Sync.

Bass says Han Solo stuck around for two agonizing hours: ''I was so nervous the whole time. I could not do a thing.''

Extra News Bits:

On the Line Soundtrack to be released October 16th. The first song "On the Line" is out now! (Cover is below)

On the Line comes out in America on October 26th. I'm trying to find out when it gets here

Because of all the On The Line stuff, Lance and Joey and sometimes the rest of *Nsync are on TV, more than usual. Woo hoo.

Yes, Lance has a girlfriend. Laura is an old friend from "back home", but they only started dating in the past few weeks. Of course, this is very hard for me, so I have no further comment. Well, at least it's not Topanga or Lucy Camden. Yuck.

(12/10) *NSYNC to Perform for Charity
After breaking hearts by canceling two of their previous concerts, the boy-group *NSYNC is coming to Miami Beach Nov. 11. And it's gonna be free. On the roof of Miami Beach's The Hotel, Miami Beach City Manager Jorge Gonzalez announced teen heartthrobs Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and Justin Timberlake will be performing on the beach at Fifth Street.
(9/10) Grease Might Be The Word Again for *NSYNC
Source: Chicago Sun-Times, Just Justin

Hollywood wants to tap the boy band *NSYNC to do "Grease III." "We were actually writing a script for a third Grease with *NSYNC being the T-Birds," says band member Lance Bass. Britney Spears (who dates *NSYNCer Justin Timberlake) was attached to do the female role. Right now the script is in development hell. "Hollywood isn't ready to let us attack it just yet," Bass says. "It will definitely come back up at one point. All of us in the band would have a cool part with J.C. [Chasez] having the lead. I hope it happens soon."

(9/10) *NSYNC & BSB join forces

NSYNC and Backstreet Boys are among the tops in pop who are joining forces for an all-star benefit concert to aid the victims of the
terrorist attacks of September 11. Those groups, along with Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger, Aerosmith, Aaron Carter, Ricky Martin, James Brown, Al Green and Kiss are confirmed to perform at "United We Stand," as the show is titled, taking place October 21 at Washington, D.C.'s RFK Stadium, according to a spokesperson for promoters Clear Channel Entertainment. Bon Jovi, the Goo Goo Dolls and Carlos Santana may also perform, according to a source close to the event.

"We wanted to definitely get involved," 'NSYNC's Joey Fatone told MTV News on Monday. "We're going to do something so we can help them out."
"It's amazing," his bandmate Lance Bass added. "We have everyone from Aerosmith to Matchbox Twenty, us, Britney [Spears], Bruce Springsteen... So many people are coming out and really supporting this thing ... and Michael Jackson will be there. It'll be big." The group is reaching out Springsteen, Spears and Matchbox Twenty, though those acts have yet to be confirmed. Other artists are expected to appear, and additional performers will be announced shortly. Proceeds from ticket sales will aid the American Red Cross Relief Fund, the Pentagon Relief Fund and the Salvation Army Relief Fund. Tickets for "United We Stand" are on sale now.

(8/10) Tom Hanks is an *NSYNC Fan
Source: http://www.ew.com, http://justjustin.nsync.nu

Just one more thing about On The Line, the new movie starring *NSYNCers Lance Bass and Joey Fatone, and then we promise never to speak of it again: Involved early in the development of the idea was none other than...Tom Hanks. While Hanks later bowed out to pay attention to Band of Brothers (his former employee Wendy Thorlakson, went on to produce the film), "Tom is a big *NSYNC fan," says producer Rich Hull. "The last time Lance and Joey were in town, I think they had dinner at Tom and Rita's. Very bizarre."

(7/10) Opening Eyes with "What's Going On" Videos
Source: mtv.com

Christina Aguilera's golden locks, Fred Durst's backward ball cap, Gwen Stefani's rainbow makeup and Justin Timberlake's freshly grown peach fuzz took a back seat Thursday to a look unprecedented even in popular music — blindfolds. Many of the artists who contributed to the project — from Ja Rule to Staind's Aaron Lewis to Alicia Keys — will don blindfolds for the video shoot, which heads to New York on Saturday and is scheduled to wrap by the end of the weekend. The videos will feature the artists removing the blindfolds, which are imprinted with such labels as "Woman," "Homosexual" and "Muslim," while they sing their parts of the song.

Most of the shots are close-ups, though director Jake Scott, known for such moving videos as R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts" and Erykah Badu's "Didn't Cha Know," filmed Aguilera and Stefani dancing from a distance on Thursday.

The new clips for "What's Going On" — the "Main Mix," Dupri's "R&B Mix" and Mick G's "Adult Contemporary Mix" — will replace the current
version, which was put together by MTV and blends news footage from the September 11 terrorist attacks with scenes from the recording sessions.

"The video out now just felt like a natural thing to do, and I am glad MTV did it," Timberlake said outside his dressing room, where he was dancing to "What It's Like to Be Me," the new track he co-wrote and co-produced for his girlfriend, Britney Spears. "This is an actual video — you can come up with a scenario that means something. You can put a visual with the cause you are singing about. ... I think people will get the message."

The blindfolds in the videos are meant to symbolize how people are blind to dealing with issues like racism, sexism, homophobia and religion and need to open their eyes, a spokesperson for the project said. The theme ties in with the lyrics to Gaye's "What's Going On," a #2 hit in 1971.

Timberlake: "Not everyone listens to the same things these days, and I think it's great they had Fred do a version. It's great they didn't break it up before the first version went to air, though, to show the unity and how so many artists from different genres came together. Now we can break it up."

(6/10) Bloodhound Gang Working On New Album With *NSYNC In Mind
Source: cdnow.com - Allstar, Just Justin

Politically incorrect rock-rap group Bloodhound Gang and politically correct pop stars *NSYNC might seem worlds apart, but they share two
things in common: One, they ain't nothin' but mammals, and two, they have a desire to work together. According to a Universal Music Canada representative, Bloodhound Gang frontman Jimmy Pop is working on a track with *NSYNC in mind in Orlando -- *NSYNC's stomping grounds -- but they haven't hooked up yet. While nothing is confirmed, both camps seem keen on the idea.

Pop turned up at an *NSYNC Popodyssey concert in his native Philadelphia on June 13 at Veterans Stadium, and has expressed interest in having the group appear on the band's follow-up to Hooray for Boobies.

"I talked with him not too long ago," confirmed *NSYNC's Joey Fatone while in Toronto over the summer. "He came to see our show. We have to talk to [our manager] Johnny [Wright] about it and everything. We were like, 'Hey, you gotta make sure it's kind of clean, 'cuz we know his writing style. But he's great. He's a great guy. The whole band's great."

Fatone -- who hints that *NSYNC's clean image is just that, an image ("I'm from New York. Let's leave it at that") -- even joined the Bloodhound Gang onstage in April 2000, for its show at Orlando's Hard Rock Live (allstar, April 18, 2000).

"I talked to him about me and him maybe getting together and writing something, so you never know,'" said Fatone. Other members of *NSYNC were also into the idea. Chris Kirkpatrick said, "I'd gladly be on it. They were at our show in Philly, so I think that would be cool. We love those guys."

Would he worry that his young fans would be corrupted by the Bloodhound Gang's bona fide dirty pop? "So what? Good!" J.C. Chasez dismissed. "Awww, no one's gonna be corrupted. It's all in good fun." **Corrupted? How old are we? 12? Oh, wait..**

(6/10) Stolen Tapes Called "Boring"
Source: dailynews.yahoo.com

Britney Spears and her boyfriend, 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake, are known for their sexy, flashy music videos - but their home videos aren't nearly so exciting. Police said there was nothing scandalous on a tape stolen from the couple's Destin vacation home last month.

"The tapes were very boring,'' said Okaloosa County sheriff's spokesman Rick Hord.

Deputies who viewed the video said it contained ordinary vacation scenes and that Spears is not in it for very long, Hord said.

It includes footage taped inside a car while driving through Alabama, some shots of the house the couple and their families rented in this Gulf Coast resort city and scenes of people playing on the beach, he said.

Four teen-agers who broke into the house on Sept. 22 took the tape, and a suspect reportedly was copying it when sheriff's deputies arrested him.

"The copy was destroyed and the original was returned,'' Hord said. The tape is not in evidence, so it is not public record.

Where's Joey?!?
from nsync-land.com: Today (10/3) on TRL, they did another edition of Videoscope where they point out weird things in videos.  Today they pointed out Joey Fatone in Sugar Ray's new video.  You see him giving a guy a hug right after this guy covered in mud rolls around on the stage.  It's really quick but they slowed down the video to show it clearly.  (MTV didn't say this part but you can also recognize one of Nsync's body guards behind Joey)

Mayor Apologizes for Break In
Source: nsyncwebguide.com

Celebrities, even teen idols, are entitled to a quiet vacation, Destin Mayor Ken Beaird says.

So after local teens burglarized the rental home where singers Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were staying, and fans scrounged
through their garbage, Beaird sent flowers and a note of apology to Spears.

“I wrote to apologize for these people,” Beaird told The Log. “We have a lot of celebrities (vacationing) in Destin, more than we even
know; they’re entitled to a peaceful vacation like any other tourist.”

Spears, *N SYNC member Timberlake and their entourage arrived in Destin earlier this month. During their stay at a rental home in the
Destiny subdivision, four teen-agers were arrested for robbing the couple’s house, and two girls were caught combing through the
garbage for souvenirs.

Beaird said after an article on the burglary appeared in local newspapers on Wednesday, kids tried climbing the fence to reach the
singers. A homeowner in the area said he’d seen parents take their children to dinner at the nearby Crab Trap restaurant, then walk
around to the house with their kids to gawk.

Beaird’s note said:

“Dear Ms. Spears:

“On behalf of the entire city of Destin, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to you, your family and your guests for the
recent events surrounding your visit to Destin. Please know this behavior is not typical or representative of the city and we all regret it
occurred even this one time. I hope you will give the city another chance by visiting us again in the future. If there is anything I, or the
city staff, can do to make your next stay more accommodating and enjoyable, please do not hesitate to let us know. For now,
however, you have my sincere personal regrets and hope that you will accept this small token of our genuine embarrassment.”

The token was the flowers Beaird sent.

“As one of the No. 1 tourist areas of the south, we need to let (celebrities) know they can come to Destin and have the same kind of
vacation as other people have,” Beaird said in an interview. “We need to respect their privacy; kids need to respect their privacy;
parents need to respect their privacy.”

Britney Slams Boybands *LOL*
Source: worldpop.com

Britney Spears says she is sick of criticism that she's a bad role model for teenagers and says boyfriend Justin Timberlake's group 'N
Sync and other boy bands like the Backstreet Boys get away with much worse behaviour.

Britney tells mtvasia.com the criticism 'hurts a lot.' 'The Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync will grind with a microphone and no-one says a
word. But, I show a little belly and people get in an uproar,' moans Britney.

Her comments come as Pepsi this week pulled their TV ads of Britney because the company feared the sight of the star showing off her
belly button on prime time television could be seen as frivolous in the wake of the terrorist attacks of 11 September. The soft drink
company, said to have paid Britney $7m in an exclusive deal to advertise the drink, feared alienating consumers.

Meanwhile, fansite www.worldofbritney.com, reveals what the cover of Britney's upcoming album, Britney, due 05 November, looks like
and also has snipnets of streaming audio of several of the album's songs including Overprotected, Lonely, Not A Girl, Boys, Anticipating, I Love Rock `n' Roll, Cinderella, Let Me Be and That's Where You Take Me.

Meanwhile Britney and Justin are among the guests to be invited to Dido's wedding, say friends of pop's golden couple. Britney, who
collaborated with Dido on a new song set to feature in her debut movie Not A Girl is preparing for her world tour which kicks off next
month in Miami. It's not known whether Britney and Justin will be able to get to the UK for the wedding. In April, Dido revealed boyfriend lawyer Bob Page proposed to her in March and they hoped to wed this summer if they found time in her busy schedule.
