(18/1) FuMan Skeeto to be Modeled at Upcoming Major Fashion Event
Source: mtv.com
As eye-popping and bootylicious as the shapely models at the Girls Rule! fashion show may be, it's likely that some onlookers and photographers won't be staring at the runway. They'll be looking at 'NSYNC's Chris Kirkpatrick, who will be debuting his FuMan Skeeto spring and summer sportswear clothing lines at the February 11 event. While Kirkpatrick has previously shown the garments on "TRL" and at Planet Hollywood in New York's Times Square, this marks the first time the clothing will be modeled at a major fashion event.
Girls Rule!, a show sponsored by Teen magazine, will take place at 6 p.m. at the Puck Building in SoHo, and will mark the beginning of New York Fashion Week, an event where the world's top designers flock to the Big Apple to showcase their latest lines.
Kirkpatrick will unveil his casual line of urban-inspired women's streetwear with an Asian influence at the event. He'll be on hand making sure all the clothes fit the models properly, and working with the principals of his fashion company to ensure the event runs smoothly, said deputy editor of Teen Matthew Dakotah, who's helping to coordinate.
Last year, City High opened Girls Rule! with a live performance, and in the next week, Teen will announce the music act that will play this year's event, Dakotah said.
(18/1) "On the Line" - Worst of 2001
Source: zap2it.com, nsyncwebguide.com
*NSYNC's Lance Bass' transition from boy band singer to movie star in "On the Line" was met with both box office failure and critical drubbing. The nation's most high profile movie reviewers, Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper, even hated the movie enough to name it one of "Worst of 2001."
When confronted with "On the Line's" inclusion on the list at the People's Choice Awards, where *N Sync was accepting the award for Favorite Musical Band or Group, Bass was blissfully unaware of Ebert and Roeper's dis.
"I didn't know that," the teen idol responds.
"On the Line" fell under Ebert and Roeper's "Don't Quit Your Day Job" category, described as "films featuring some familiar faces who tried to make the leap to movie stardom — and landed face-down with a horrible splat."
"We usually go from what they say to opposite of what they say," Bass counters with his personal movie-going habits. "So I'm kind of flattered."
Chris Kirkpatrick, the *N Sync member with the highest pitch voice and dreadlocks, chimes in to support Bass. "That can only help DVD sales, now can't it?" he posits, referring to the extra publicity Ebert and Roeper have given the movie.
Despite "On the Line's" scant $4.4 million total gross, don't count Bass out yet. "I plan to do more movies, and I love it," he declares.
Those future projects won't include the rumored *N Sync band movie, according to Kirkpatrick. "I can't act," he explains self-deprecatingly as the reason. "I'm just stupid."
(18/1) *NSYNC in Chili's Grill & Bar Commercials
Source: prnewswire.com, nsyncwebguide.com
Pop recording sensation *NSYNC has signed a marketing agreement with casual dining leader Chili's Grill & Bar to star in a series of commercials promoting the restaurant's Baby Back Ribs and "To Go" service. Chili's will also be the lead sponsor of the band's next concert tour.
The venture will mark the first time in Chili's 27-year history that the company has enlisted celebrity talent for its television or radio advertising. The agreement could also include a variety of promotional opportunities yet to be finalized. The new Chili's commercials featuring *NSYNC will begin airing the week of January 21st.
"*NSYNC is one of the hottest properties in the country and a perfect match for our brand positioning," said Randy Kies, vice president of marketing for Chili's. "To be launching an ad campaign with entertainers of their caliber is exciting enough. To launch the ads just as *NSYNC is preparing for their performance during the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics is phenomenal."
Winners of Billboard Music, MTV, People's Choice and American Music Awards, *NSYNC was dubbed "Biggest Band in the World" by Rolling Stone Magazine in 2001 and has garnered seven Grammy nominations in their rapid rise to stardom. To date, their albums have sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and the band continues to set new tour attendance records. The group's members are Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and Justin Timberlake.
"We're always looking to explore new endorsement opportunities and this is one we just couldn't pass on," said Chris Kirkpatrick. "Working with the Chili's marketing team allowed us to bring our vision of the ads to this partnership -- they're a great organization to work with."
"The Chili's team gave us creative license to take their Baby Back Ribs jingle and make it feel like our own version with our kind of sound," added Justin Timberlake. "We really worked hard to create an incredible jingle and music for the commercials and we think our fans will really enjoy them."
The Chili's Baby Back Ribs Jingle, introduced in 1995, has become one of the most recognizable advertising tunes in pop-culture. The song was parodied by Mike Myers' "Fat Bastard" character in the "Austin Powers 2" movie and has also been used on "The Jamie Fox Show" as well as the new Damon Wayans sit- com, "My Wife & Kids."
With more than 775 locations, Chili's Grill & Bar is the flagship brand of Dallas-based Brinker International (NYSE: EAT) which owns, operates or franchises approximately 1,200 restaurants throughout the United States and 21 other countries. Additional brands in the Brinker portfolio include Romano's Macaroni Grill, On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina, Cozymel's Coastal Mexican Grill, Maggiano's Little Italy, Corner Bakery Cafe, Big Bowl, Rockfish Seafood Grill, and EatZi's Market and Bakery.
(16/1) *NSYNC Win People's Choice Favourite Music Group/Band Award
Source: dailynews.yahoo.com
The people know what they like in movies, TV and music and they're sticking with it.
Perennial favorites such as "ER'' and "Friends'' dominated the 28th annual People's Choice Awards, a televised popularity contest held Sunday at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
The awards were based on the results of a nationwide telephone poll conducted by the Gallup Organization between November 2000 and October 2001.
The fans remained especially loyal in the music category. Country stars Garth Brooks and Faith Hill were named favorite individual performers in a repeat of last year's results.
Pop group *NSYNC was also picked again as favorite musical group or band, beating out the Backstreet Boys and Dixie Chicks.
(16/1) Attend SuperBowl Party with Justin & Britney
Source: britneyspears.com, Just Justin
Ever wonder how a star like Britney Spears spends Superbowl Sunday? This year she and her boyfriend Justin Timberlake will be bringing the game to New York. The game is scheduled for February 3rd in New Orleans, LA (Brit's home state). Britney and Justin will be treating a few hundred lucky New Yorkers to true southern-style hospitality at a Superbowl blowout party at Manhattan's Planet Hollywood. 600 lucky guests will get to watch the game alongside Britney and Justin, while feasting on true Cajun grub and raucous live New Orleans entertainment. Best of all, they'll auction off the chance to attend dance class with Justin or receive a walk-on role in an upcoming Britney movie, video or commercial!
The tickets will cost $1000 each, and all proceeds go to the Britney Spears Foundation and the Justin Timberlake Foundation, benefiting the performing arts and music education. Stay tuned to Britneyspears.com for more news!

(16/1) JC Clears Up Star Wars Rumours
Source: Just Justin
JC Chasez has finally put a rest to all the rumours that George Lucas has cut *NSYNC out of the upcoming Star Wars sequel.
He said that the group was in the area editing their soon-to-be-released concert video when they found out that George Lucas was re-shooting scenes for Star Wars.
Chris, Justin, Joey and himself took a day off to drop by the set to shoot a few small scenes.
*NSYNC does not know if those scenes will make the final cut yet.
(16/1) Justin & Angie Stone Hit it Off
Source: vh1.com
For soul singer Angie Stone, working in the studio, touring and shooting videos with the likes of Alicia Keys, Will Smith, Maxwell, Moby, 'NSYNC's Justin Timberlake and Eve doesn't necessarily make her a star, but it's a heck of a start.
"I'm trying to get to the next level," said Stone, who has been getting love lately with her second LP, Mahogany Soul.
"Justin [Timberlake] and I hit it off," she said, smiling. "Justin loves the Mahogany Soul album. While we were doing the Billboard Music Awards, he was singing 'More Than a Woman' and 'Pissed Off' during the soundcheck. He's going, 'Your CD's in my car right now, you have to work on my solo project.' I saw him in the studio today."
(16/1) Elton Amazed with Justin's Performance
Source: dailynews.yahoo.com
If his *NSYNC gig ever dries up, Justin Timberlake could always get a job as an Elton John impersonator.
The pop music heartthrob looks uncannily like the Grammy-winning singer did in the 1970s in John's new video, "This Train Don't Stop There Anymore,'' complete with the oversized glasses, receding hairline and gaudy clothes.
Even John was surprised at how much the *NSYNC singer favored him.
"I was so knocked out with this video and so amazed with Justin's performance because he'd obviously done his homework. It was incredible,'' said John.
"When he's walking along the corridor with the scarf and he plays the fake, imaginary piano - it's strange because that was the '70s for me and he got it. It's so bizarre ... it freaks me out.''

(14/1) Britney & Justin Co-Host Super Bowl Party
Source: CDNOW - AllStar News
Britney Spears certainly is a busy beaver these days. Along with a slew of other appearances, she has now just confirmed that she and boyfriend Justin Timberlake will co-host a benefit Super Bowl party in N.Y. on Feb. 3.
The two will host the party at Planet Hollywood in N.Y., where guests can bid on auction items ranging from a dance class with Timberlake or a cameo in an upcoming Spears movie, video, or commercial to items from Madonna, Tiger Woods, and others.
The New Orleans-styled party will benefit the Britney Spears Foundation (which helps children in need) and the Justin Timberlake Foundation (which promotes music education for children).
Spears' to-do list for the next month also includes her second hosting of Saturday Night Live on Feb. 3; a performance at the NBA All-Star Read to Achieve Celebration on Feb. 9 at the Pennyslvania Convention Center, airing on MTV, NBC, TNT, BET, MuchMusic, and Nickelodeon; and the release of her debut movie, Crossroads, on Feb. 15. 'NSync, meanwhile, scored two GRAMMY Award nominations for Best Pop Vocal Album (for Celebrity) and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal (for "Gone").
(12/1) *NSYNC Cut from "Clones"?
Source: eonline.com
Say "Bye, Bye, Bye" to the boys of 'N Sync: All that public moaning over their brief cameo in the upcoming Star Wars prequel may have sealed their fate on the cutting-room floor.
So claims 'N Sync-er Joey Fatone, who called into Tampa, Florida, radio station WFLZ-FM this week to personally deliver the, um, bad news that a battle-scene cameo they shot for Episode II--Attack of the Clones has been cut because of the subsequent fan uproar.
"I'm going to make it officially known that they dropped it because people made a big deal about it," said Fatone, who sounded a tad perturbed about the development. "We're not going to be in it, and I'm not going to comment on it any more."
So can those griping Star Wars fans finally breath easy? Not quite. Lucasfilm spokeswoman Lynn Hale wouldn't confirm Thursday whether 'N Sync will or will not appear in the final cut of Clones, saying "it's just too early to make that decision."
"The 'N Sync guys were shot as extras, and whether they're in or out won't be determined until the final edit," Hale says.
Even if they do make the final cut when Episode II is released May 16, don't expect the on-screen cameo to be very noticeable. Despite rumors that George Lucas cast the boys to appease his boy-band-crazy daughters, Lance Bass told Entertainment Weekly that he and his bandmates were enlisted for the scene while they were at Lucas' California sound studios last fall working on their concert video Pop Odyssey Live.
When Fatone mentioned they were huge Star Wars fans, producer Rick McCallum cast them as Jedi Knights alongside hundreds of other extras in one of the film's battle scenes.
Not all the 'N Sync-ers nabbed the nonspeaking, noncredited parts; Bass said "there was only room for four guys"--Justin Timberlake couldn't make the December shoot and Bass had a scheduling conflict, so "I gave the scene to Steve, Joey's brother," he said. "It broke my heart."
His wasn't the only heart broken over the casting. Star Wars geeks let out a collective yelp last week when word leaked that 'N Sync shot a scene for Clones, no matter how brief and inconsequential it may have been.
But Lucasfilm rep Hale denies that public criticism will have any effect on whether the boys stay or go from the film. "George makes all his decisions himself," Hale added. "And the final edit of the film is what he determines it will be."
(12/1) *NSYNC Responds to Boos While Accepting Award
Source: launch.com
It isn't often the members of *NSYNC respond to their critics in such a public light, but at last night's (January 9) American Music Awards they did just that. While approaching the stage to accept the award for favorite pop/rock group, a spattering of boos began to fill the Shrine Auditorium. When they finally got to the stage, singer Justin Timberlake snapped back at those naysayers. "Oh, quit booing. U2's gonna get Grammys." Chris Kirkpatrick added and more traditional, "Thank you everybody. The record company.our family, God. The fans, thank you guys very much for supporting us. Thank you."

Source: mtv.com
If diehard 'NSYNC fans thought that surprising them with new material from their favorite group was a long shot, they'd be right.

Those groups, along with Britney Spears, also have cameo roles in the basketball-themed movie set in high school.

(4/1) *NSYNC Recalls September 11th
Source: launch.com
*NSYNC singer Chris Kirkpatrick recalled for LAUNCH what the group's reaction was upon hearing news of the tragedy on the morning of Tuesday, September 11.
"We were stunned. We'd been on the road probably for about eight or nine months and the last thing we did was on the weekend, we had this show we did down in the islands, and we flew back on the Monday night, so we all got home Monday night and woke up Tuesday morning," he said. "And I know a lot of people got stuck and their plans were pushed back and changed from when they were supposed to fly out, and we were really blessed that we got home the night before everything happened."
Kirkpatrick added that *NSYNC, like much of the nation, spent the next several hours contacting friends and loved ones: "Just like everybody, we were on the cell phone and pagers trying to get a hold of everybody we knew in New York, making sure everybody was OK, and then (we were) letting everybody else know that our hearts and our prayers went out to everybody that was affected in the tragedies."
(4/1) *NSYNC Cameo in Upcoming Star Wars Movie
Source: eonline.com, nsyncwebguide.com
At last, someone has stepped in to replace Jar Jar Binks as the target of derision from Star Wars fans the world over.
Brace yourselves: The boys of 'N Sync will have a cameo in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode II--Attack of the Clones. A Lucasfilm
spokeswoman confirmed what Star Wars fan sites had been buzzing about for days, saying the fivesome will appear briefly in a "big scene."
(Breathe, people, breathe.)
There are two different stories as to how this shocking development occurred. The New York Post reports that George Lucas' adopted
daughters, Amanda and Katie, are huge fans of the popster supergroup, so he cast the boys as Jedi knights. The Post says they appear in the background of the film's climactic battle scene, before getting blown up by "battle droids."
Lucasfilm rep Lynn Hale, however, says that, while Lucas' daughters are big fans, "that didn't have anything to do with it." Hale says
Justin, Lance, Joey, JC and Chris were big Star Wars fans, so they asked producer Rick McCallum if they could appear in the latest installment.
McCallum apparently found a spot for them, in "a big scene with lots of extras." But Hale says they have no dialogue, and they won't even be credited as extras when the film hits theaters May 16.
Still, the mere blip of an appearance by the Pop stars has set off a firestorm of talk on Star Wars Internet message boards.
"Please no. George, no. Please. Anything but the boy bands. Please," wrote one fan in a discussion on Star Wars news Website TheForce.Net. "Jar Jar I could handle. Not this."
Other fans, however, were actually willing to give Lucas the benefit of the doubt--assuming that any cameo with the 'N Syncers would be so brief that they wouldn't even be noticeable.
"If they're just in the background, I don't see what it would matter," writes another fan, known as Silac5. "Now, if they were to start having synchronized lightsaber battles and spontaneously bust out in song, then I would have to walk out of the theater."
At first, it appeared the 'N Sync news was just another twisted rumor--conjured up by the same Star Wars geeks who have claimed that Celine Dion is singing the theme for Attack of the Clones and that Van Halen planned to record an instrumental score for the film.
This time, the rumor turned out to be true, and Lucasfilm confirmed it after tabloids in London and New York published stories on the
cameos. Truth, it seems, is stranger than fiction.
