What was originally written in the Bible? Originally the Old Testament was written in Hebrew and Aramaic, a dialect of the Hebrew language. Hebrew is a wonderful and exact language, with words mostly explaining the real meanings. For Instance, Abram’s name was changed from Abram to Ab-ra-ham, the latter meaning, “father of many nations”. This is exactly how Abraham’s name is written in Hebrew, µh;r;b]a, 'ab-raw-hawm. It is therefore relatively easy to determine the exact meaning of words in Hebrew.
