What is the Pilot Business Support iniatitive?
This is my dream:
I am a paraglider pilot and instructor, as well as an ex-hang glider and ex-PPG pilot. I am also a consumer. As such, I would prefer to support fellow pilots. The main problem is that I do not know who has what business, and therefore cannot support them when I need their service or product, nor is there any easy way to find out who is in the business.
My dream is to make it easy for pilots to find other pilots who can supply whatever it is that is required. This page is the small start of something that will hopefully be fruitful for all.
On this page the businesses of fellow pilots COUNTRY WIDE will be listed, whether it is a larger or smaller business, running from full-time premises, or full-time or part-time from the home.
The only exclusions are paragliding orientated businesses (my sincere apologies but I am sure the reason is crystal clear). However, a paragliding
instructor who is also a builder (for example) can advertise his construction company, or guest house, or whatever else.
How to list your business:
Listing is completely free. All you need to do to list your business is to send an e-mail to funwings@global.co.za with the following details:
Your name
Your sport (paragliding/hang gliding/ppg/other)
Your business name
Your business type/service/products
Your business and/or your contact numbers
Your email and website addresses
Your physical business address (if a private home, it is not advisable to publish the address on-line)
Your business logo if available
Any other information you would like to provide, short write up, etc.
Please do not supply prices. They will not be listed.
How to unlist your business:
You can unlist at any time by sending an e-mail to funwings@global.co.za and writing the words "Unlist business" in the body or subject line with any details necessary.
Prospective clients, please note: this initiative is NOT to gain discounts, but to provide business support. Everyone of us need to make money in order to pay the bills at the end of the month. There is no gain, and often frustration, if one is expected to provide products or services at a discounted price. Please do not expect a discount, or ask for one. If you get one, it is a huge favour, and something to appreciate, but still not to expect.
HINT: Even if the pilot is not in the area you want, perhaps he/she can still help. Give the business a call.

Products & services:Accommodation. Bilene is situated in the Gaza district in Mozambique 185km north of Maputo. It is a lagoon 27km long lying parallel to the sea. It is an idylic setting with white sands, pristine waters, lots of prawns. You can paraglide, powerparaglide, dune soar, quadbike, waterski, fish, suntan, drink beer, parasail, 4x4 trail, sea fishing, dive, snorkel, sail, etc. Our camp is 2400m2 and has the basic necessities. Electricity, deepfreeze, bush toilets, bush shower, grassy ground for camping, 24 h security, wood for camp fires at night, happy-to-help staff. Good rates. The road to Bilene is tarred all the way. The last 2km is sand road to the resort. This bush camp is 600 m from the water front. There is place for winching paragliders next to lagoon.
