Teddy Bears
Welcome to Eunice Beaton's home page. I will be using this page as a means to pass on news and information about South African mohair for Teddy Bears and the Teddy Bears and kits I have created using this fabric. Kits using other mohair and synthetic fabrics will be added.

South African Mohair for Teddy Bears - how it all started
The idea for South African Mohair Teddy Bears came from the fact that I was making Teddy Bears of imported mohair while living in a country that is one of the largest producers of mohair. I decided to investigate the possibility of manufacturing a mohair fabric locally and approached a specialist textile organization in South Africa. Close co-operation and two years of research and development produced what has now become known in Teddy Bear circles as South African mohair. Due to the high density of the pile this fabric is suitable for making Teddy Bears of 8 inches and over.
