Helicopters
From the Saix
Forums:
- Mostly referring to the Huey. It is only a two seater chopper. So please if you
see a Huey with Missile pods on the side and it comes and lands on the Carrier.
If you cant get in and see some one in the second seat, you are looking @ the
wrong chopper for a drop off.
- 'S' while flying choppers is not slow down, like in BF2, but 'drop like a
stone'. Little taps of it will cause a smooth desent as opposed to doing a
flying brick impersonation.
- A squad cannot have its own dedicated helicopter - it effectively reduces your
squad strength by 1 member i.e less firepower.
- A chopper is a limited resource, other squads need it too, so a dedicated
chopper / logistics squad (preferably locked) should be formed. The Commander
can then task the helicopter as requests come in from squads and prioritise as
needed.
- Secondly, Squad Leaders, if you want your squad lifted you have to prep an
Landing Zone (LZ). Is it a hot LZ? If yes, then tell the Comander and give an
idea of where the enemy is in relation to the LZ. The Commander can then inform
the Pilot of this and suggest a possible route.
- Mark the LZ! Green smoke for a safe LZ, Red smoke for hot. Pop smoke when you
hear him, not before. If its a hot LZ and you pop too soon the enemy will know
whats happening.
- Rally your troops! Get your snipers in to the LZ. If your troops are scattered
bring them in too. Form a perimeter and hold it till your lift arrives.
- Big squads get priority! Full squads = firepower. They get priority tasking for
resources. Your 2 man squad doesn't, deal with it.

General Advice
You need to request and received a Pilot kit in order to fly an aircraft.
If you are co-operating an aircraft (gunner or pilot), both airmen need to be in
the same squad.Only pilots get a parachute.
