You will notice this text on the wall of the Baal Shem Tov Shul in Johannesburg:

1. Loosely translated:
The following is a fundamental principle:
From the mouth of the most high comes neither good nor bad. What emanates is a simple light.
However, according to the level of the vessel that receives the light, so is light inside formed and perceived.

On another wall of the shul, you will find the following:

2. Loosely translated:
One of the main means of ascribing to the greatness of Hashem (G-d) is through drawing people who are otherwise extremely far away from Judaism back to their source.
The further away they are, the greater they in fact become.
This is in keeping with Rebbe Nachman's great teaching:
Never give up hope and never write anyone off.
