Gordon Lennox was the official historian of the SAAF and not many members/readers are aware that the 30^th May 2003 was the 60^th anniversary of 28 Squadron and also the 40^th anniversary of the introduction of the C-130 Hercules into SAAF service. Gordon has researched the early transport squadrons such as 50 & 61 and covers their early service and many others, the formation of 28 Squadron in May 1943 and 44 Squadron in 1944.
